Love the wooden houses in Sweden, especially the ones painted that typical red-brown colour? Then a little walk in the area around Åsöberget is just the thing for you! Here you’ll find one red-brown wooden house after the other.
To get there, make your way to the east of the district of Södermalm and then head for the following roads:
• Skeppargränd
• Lotsgatan
• Kvastmakartrappan
• Kvastmakarbacken
If you’ve seen enough Swedish wooden houses for one day, then I recommend climbing the neighbouring mountain of Fåfängen. From there you have a magnificent view of Stockholm.
This walk can be combined with a side-trip to the area around Nytorget and Vita bergen.
By the way, a visit to Nytorget might be just the thing after my guided tour through Södermalm.
